German automotive online marketplace AutoScout24 is expanding its services for dealers in cooperation with Santander Bank.

Santander Bank will now help dealer partners finance used cars offered on the AutoScout24 site.

AutoScout24 hopes that this additional service will improve marketing opportunities for dealers, generating qualified leads by providing concrete financing offers. The only requirement for the offer is that the dealer must also be a Santander partner. The additional offer is reportedly free of charge for dealers.

AutoScout24 referenced the latest DAT Report as a reason for expanding their its offers. According to the DAT Report from 2022, a consumer behavior report on the purchase of used cars and new cars as well as the workshop business in Germany, half of used cars sold are now financed at the time of purchase.

As the largest pan-European online car market, AutoScout24 has around 1.5 million listings and more than 43,000 car dealer partners. Customers can finance, buy, subscribe, lease and sell used as well as new cars through the marketplace. Founded in 1998 in Grünwald, Germany, the company now has 500 employees.

AutoScout 24 was owned by the Scout24 Group until April 2020, when it was sold to private equity firm Hellman & Friedman, which has offices in San Francisco, London and New York.
