Antoine Jouteau is the new CEO of Adevinta, the Oslo-based international marketplace operator. He replaces Rolv Erik Ryssdal, the long-time head of the company, who had announced his retirement earlier this year.

Jouteau (LinkedIn profile) is CEO of LeBonCoin, the France-based horizontal that has become the most successful classified venture in the Adevinta portfolio, and a member of Adevinta’s executive leadership team. With Adevinta ramping up its strategy across transactions, Jouteau is well suited to spearhead the transition — LeBonCoin has become the gold standard for transactions among Adevinta companies.

Jouteau joined LeBonCoin in 2009 as its fifth employee, initially as director of bizdev, progressing to CEO in 2015.

Ryssdal will hand over the reins to Jouteau on August 15.

“Antoine is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the global marketplaces industry, and an impressive track record of successfully building and scaling local brands. By continuously reinventing and diversifying LeBonCoin, he has built one of the most visited websites in France, with over 29 million monthly users, and more than doubled revenues and profit during his tenure as CEO,” commented Orla Noonan, chair of Adevinta’s board, in a media announcement.
