According to the company’s results report, Z Holdings (formerly Yahoo Japan Corporation) recorded steady revenue growth in its re-use business division in Q1 of FY2022 (to June).

The company’s report showed the transaction value of the re-use business—covering Yahoo Auctions, PayPayFleaMarket, and ZozoUse—rose 5.4% year-on-year to Y241 billion in Q1. The segment’s merchandise transaction value totaled Y239 billion in the preceding quarter.

In Q1, the company reported revenue of Y14.1 billion ($105 million U.S.) from the re-use segment, slightly increasing from Y14 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.

The group’s overall merchandise value maintained its upward trajectory, which the company ascribed to the “steady progress of online shopping and the re-use businesses”.

The revenue of Z Holdings, based in Japan, increased 4.6% year-on-year to Y391 billion in Q1, while the company’s adjusted EBITDA [earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization] was marginally up to Y86.5 billion from Y86.3 billion.

Z Holdings is one of the world’s top-20 multi-vertical marketplaces by revenue, according to an AIM Group estimate.
