Polish media group Agora SA saw digital revenue decrease by 14.1% while EBITDA declined by 31.1% year-on-year in H1 of FY2022.

Revenue of Agora’s internet division amounted to 86.8 million Polish zlotys ($19 million U.S.) in H1 of FY2022 — down from 101.1 million Polish zlotys in H1 of FY2021.

The Agora Internet division saw earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBIDTA) come to 12.6 million Polish zlotys ($2.8 million U.S.) in H1 of FY2022 — down from 18.3 million Polish zlotys in H1 last year.

In Q2 of FY2022, the Internet division of Agora saw revenue of PLN 42.9 million ($9.4 million U.S.) — down 20.8% from PLN 54.2 million in Q2 2021. Its EBITDA decreased 42.2% to PLN 6.7 million ($1.5 million U.S.) from PLN 11.6 million in the same period a year earlier.

The decrease in revenues was mainly due to lower online advertising sales by programmatic-ad-optimizer YieldBird. On the other hand, the segment recorded higher revenues from classifieds and other internet services, including from job sites GoldenLine.pl and HRLink.pl, Agora said in its interim report.

Agora’s Internet division includes also news site Gazeta.pl, Plan D (formerly Domiporta), and performance-marketing agent Optimizers.
