Multi-vertical classified business Carousell has launched InstantBuy Mobile, a warranty program to make sure the phones sold on its website come from authorized partners with protection, in a bid to increase buyer confidence.

In this invitation-only security program, all phones registered in the InstantBuy section are SSM-registered, have at least a 4.9 rating on the classified site, and are delivered with a compatible charger.

The company also makes sure that every mobile goes through an extensive inspection, with over 40 quality checkpoints. A report on the state of the device appears on each product page, and clients can select from products categorized by their current condition.

The second-hand phones are also covered by a one-year warranty that costs an extra $22 U.S. The first month of the guarantee period covers both hardware and software, while the remaining 11 cover perishable components such as batteries or screen.

Under the protection policy, buyers can make a maximum of two claims per phone. If the costs of repair exceed the price of the device, exchanges are allowed. Carousell also offers a seven-day return service applicable to damaged products.
