Automotive data integration specialist One Auto API has appointed former Cazoo and Carvana car data expert Rupert Pontin as its new commercial director.

Pontin (LinkedIn profile) has extensive experience in vital data, retail and disposal business operations. He spent 11 months at Cazoo as head of data communications before leaving in July. Prior to that he was at data insights platform Cazana, before it was acquired by Cazoo for £25 million in September 2021, working as director of valuations and then insights. He has also worked for BCA as an account manager.

One Auto API launched earlier this year and aims to deliver a simpler and faster solution to integrating vital data feeds for fleet, retail and other automotive service providers, which can be a complex task.

The company found that after four months of trading, which resulted in rapid growth, that it had a need to focus on supporting innovative ambitions of its customers. Pontin will be tasked with helping One Auto API’s customers gain a commercial advantage at a time of market disruption by identifying opportunities for risk management and business process improvement.
