Allegro, an operator of b-to-c and c-to-c marketplaces in Poland, has appointed Jakub Jasiński (LinkedIn profile) as its Central and Eastern Europe category manager. Jasińki joins Allegro from CCC, where he worked as e-commerce and omnichannel director for 5 years. In his new position, he will be responsible for driving Allegro’s growth outside of Poland.
Allegro has been implementing an international expansion strategy for some time. As part of this effort, the company acquired Czech e-commerce platform Mall Group and logistics business WeDo in April. These operate in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and Poland. It also launched an English language version of its flagship site Allegro.pl at the beginning of 2022.
Allegro’s FY2021 revenue was PLN 5.4B ($1.3B), up from PLN 4 billion in FY2020. Adjusted EBITDA was PLN 2.0B, up from PLN 1.8B in FY2020. At the end of 2021, Allegro had 13.5 million active buyers on its marketplace, an increase of 3% from 2020.
