Mexico-based digital auto retailer Kavak has opened Peru’s first multi-brand car reconditioning center. All of the vehicles that the company sells will be checked, and, if necessary, repaired, at this facility. This will allow it to offer warranties on the cars it sells.
The center has a bodyshop for sheet metal repairs, four infrared-light alignment systems for checking wheels, a paint shop and scanners that check a vehicle’s computers and electronic systems. Kavak only purchases vehicles that are less than ten years old and have less than 100,000km (62,137 miles) on the clock.
Kavak has invested $1.5 million in this facility, which covers 6,000 square meters and has a capacity of 1,800 reconditioned vehicles per month. With OLX Autos having ceased operations locally, Kavak is now the only digital dealer in Peru.
