Indonesia-based blue-collar recruitment site Lumina has appointed Aurora Marsye as chief product officer.
Marsye (LinkedIn profile) joins Lumina after stints at Ajaib, where she worked for a year and 4 months as vice president, head of business unit and head of product, and Traveloka, where she spent almost six years as product manager, overseeing marketing data, analytics and technology.
Founded by Aswin Andrison and Tri Ahmad Irfan in Jakarta last September, Lumina offers technology-based services to help users through the interview process, including community forums to interact with fellow job-seekers. According to the startup, candidates using its site wait half as long for responses to their applications and enjoy a smooth process when submitting documents. Job-seekers can also use documents and data stored with Lumina to apply for posts at various companies.
“Unleashing Indonesia’s potential, particularly its human capital, has been bothering me for quite some time. We’re the fourth most populous country in the world, and for some reason, back in the day, among thousands of Goldman Sachs new technology analysts globally, only me and two other friends were Indonesians,” wrote Marsye on her LinkedIn profile.
At the beginning of this year, the HRTech company received an undisclosed amount of funding from venture capital firms Y Combinator (YC) and Alpha JWC Ventures. According to Andrison, blue-collar workers in Indonesia do not have adequate access to the resources and career development avenues to position them to pursue better economic opportunities.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Indonesian tech ecosystem together with (ex) colleagues at Traveloka and Ajaib, raising the bar for technology talents in the country in the past few years. Now, it’s time to unleash Indonesia through Lumina,” said Marsye.
