In a recent interview with website El Español, Albert Bosch, founder and CEO of Spain-based IBuying firm and hybrid real estate agency Housfy (LinkedIn profile), discussed its international expansion plans.

Already present “a little bit” in Portugal, Bosch said while Housfy had considered expanding in Italy before now, a lack of resources has held it back. “The idea is to go back and look for an alliance to attack the Italian market, although not immediately,” he stated.

More broadly, Housfy is attempting to build an ecosystem of home services. As part of this, it has launched a service to manage urbanizaciones (residential communities, such as apartment complexes), of which there are 1.2 million in Spain. “In just one month we have reached almost 1,000 urbanizaciones in Catalonia,” said Bosch, who added that the aim was to increase this figure to 5,000 by the end of 2023.

Bosch stated Housfy’s turnover is doubling every year. Having reached €15 million ($14.6 million) in 2021, he said this figure could reach €40 million this year. The company has 450 employees and is planning open ten physical stores by the end of next year. To date, it has opened three — two in Barcelona and one in Madrid. Earlier this year, Housfy raised €30 million in a series B funding round that was led by U.K.-based Frog Capital.
