U.S.-based recruitment technology platform HireVue has unveiled a video-assessment tool called Agile Mindset Assessment that helps companies to identify candidates and existing employees who think fast and are capable of working flexibly.

It is designed to assess the core elements of an agile mindset in less than 30 minutes. It uses five questions and three games that cover five forms of agility:

  • People agility — how well people know themselves, learn from experience, treat others and remain cool and resilient under pressure.
  • Results agility — how they perform under tough conditions, build confidence in others and inspire them to perform better.
  • Mental agility — the extent to which people bring a fresh perspective to problems and are comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, in addition to how good they are at explaining their thinking to others.
  • Change agility — encompasses curiosity, experimentation, theorising and engaging in skill-building activities.

“The future of work will require filling some roles that don’t exist today or roles in ever-changing work environments, and we think that many of the same employees you have today can move to those new positions, as long as they have the required skills and mindset,” said Dr Nathan Mondragon, chief IO (industrial and organizational) psychologist at HireVue.
