Malaysia-based BrioHR, a cloud-based HR tech website that offers services ranging from recruitment to payroll for SMEs in Southeast Asia, has appointed Leon Kong as head of sales and client success.
In 2003, Kong (LinkedIn profile) founded the iProperty Group, which merged with REA Group in 2015 in a $534 million USD deal. He has also worked at Juwai IQI and at recently shuttered end-to-end rentals marketplace Instahome.
According to BrioHR, which is focused on end-to-end HR across Southeast Asia, Kong’s sales leadership and his marketplace background will be used to build sales teams to accelerate the company’s growth.
“Kong is an outstanding addition to our team, as he brings a deep blend of sales experience and the skill set to deliver client success,” said Benjamin Croc, co-founder and CEO of BrioHR.
“I’m thrilled and honored to be joining the team. BrioHR provides exceptional solutions and services that businesses require to improve and simplify their day-to-day HR services. I’m looking forward to creating a client success department that is zealous about nurturing each client’s relationship, goals and ultimate success in business growth.” commented Kong.
BrioHR raised an undisclosed sum in a funding round earlier this year. Participants included Thariq Usman Ahmad, founding partner at Tuas Capital Partners and deputy CEO of KAF Investment Bank, and Georg Chmiel, co-founder of Juwai IQI Holdings and a former CEO of IProperty (LinkedIn profile). In March 2021, BrioHR raised $1.3 million U.S. from investors, including Global Founders Capital and East Ventures.
