As part of its efforts to build trust between users, online classifieds site Dubizzle.com now allows buyers and sellers to earn a verified badge.
To get a ‘Verified on Dubizzle’ badge, the user needs to submit a self-video clip, a scanned copy of an Emirates ID card and a profile photo, according to an Dubizzle.
This ‘blue tick’ on a profile implies credibility and trustworthiness, according to the UAE-based horizontal.
“‘Verified on Dubizzle’ will strengthen the trust between the company and users, while eliminating the risks of scams,” it said. The ‘blue tick’ earned by the verified account will appear on listing and detail page views and improve the trust element during chats between buyers and sellers. In addition to the badge, the verified user will also get priority from the customer support team.”
Dubizzle is a part of UAE-based marketplaces and classified websites operator Emerging Markets Property Group, which also owns real estate marketplaces Bayut in the UAE and Zameen.com in Pakistan. Dubizzle, together with its sister website Bayut, recently started a drive to remove unauthorized property listings.
Dubizzle’s main competitor is IMENA-owned OpenSooq.com.
