Netherlands-based trade group the Co-operative Association of Real Estate Brokers (NVM) has tied up with consultancy the Smart Living Society to promote the use of smart products in Dutch households and help real estate agents expand value-added services.

The NVM, which owns leading local real estate marketplace, said in a statement that it had entered into a partnership with the Smart Living Society.

“One of the tasks of the NVM as a trade association is to look ahead. How will the real estate agent of the future carry out their profession and continue to provide structural added value for the housing consumer? That is one of the key questions,” said Marc Vervoort, manager of data and innovation at the NVM. “Together with the Smart Living Society, we help to partly create that future in the field of Smart Living ourselves.”

A similar development was observed in South Korea, where real estate marketplace ZigBang moved into the internet-of-things (IoT) business by acquiring Samsung Home IoT unit.
