Singapore-based marketplace horizontal Carousell has appointed Gijs Verheijke to lead its luxury category.
Gijs Verheijke (LinkedIn profile) is the CEO and founder of Singapore-based Ox Street, a streetwear marketplace that was acquired by Carousell in October 2021 for an undisclosed sum. Ox Street continues to operate as a separate brand.

In his new role, Verheijke will help Carousell enhance consumer trust with regard to the authenticity of products sold through its marketplace. Carousell’s aim is to create a customer experience in which transacting secondhand is as convenient and trusted as buying new.
“Super excited and grateful to experience this evolution. Hope to learn lots new things through running a huge department in a scaled company and hope to be able to create value and build something big and meaningful,” Verheijke commented on LinkedIn.
Kevin Pratama Simtan (LinkedIn profile) will now be responsible for the day-to-day running of Ox Street.
