Mobile-only job referral service Cruit.work has raised undisclosed funding from leading venture capital firm Slingshot Ventures and HRTech angel investors from TestGorilla, Rodeo and Workify.

Amsterdam-based Cruit says it will use the fund “to expand Cruit’s team, enhance its platform, and accelerate its growth.”

Cruit draws on employees and communities to support the talent acquisition efforts of employers. When it launched in 2021, the recruitment referral service encouraged employers to incentivize employees for referring qualified candidates.

Recently, it unveiled its Public app, with which anyone can refer a candidate and earn an average of €2,000 ($2,100 U.S.) per hire, according to Cruit’s funding announcement. The expanding scope can also boost referral program outreach by more than 40%, it said.

“We’re thrilled to have the support of Slingshot Ventures and these experienced angel investors,” said Steye Kaersenhout, co-founder and CEO of Cruit. “Their investment will help us continue to innovate and improve our platform, making it even easier for companies to find the best candidates through employee and community referrals. With their amazing network and knowledge, we can accelerate our sales and product development.”
