Programmatic recruitment software and technology company Appcast has launched Appcast Labs, a new research and innovation initiative that aims to create disruptive and breakthrough talent acquisition solutions for employers.
The new product will develop technology that complements Appcast’s existing programmatic recruitment advertising software and services. The initiative will be led by Tom Chevalier, part of Appcast’s founding team. Chevalier (LinkedIn profile) has been with Appcast for eight years and was previously chief product officer. In his new position he will lead the development of new recruitment technology.
The company wants to expand beyond programmatic job advertising technology to build technologies that optimize recruitment marketing. Appcast’s clients will get early access to Appcast’s Labs’ technology and services and have the opportunity to play a collaborative role in its development process.
“Appcast Labs is an ambitious new venture and a place for our talented team to think, invent and develop ground-breaking solutions,” said Chevalier. “It’s an honor to lead this exciting new initiative and be given the freedom to explore cutting-edge strategies and completely new approaches to attracting top talent. And like a startup, we’re going to move quickly.”
Appcast says its first priority with Appcast Labs is to target wasted job advertising spending, which it claims is a multi-billion dollar problem in the U.S. alone. Appcast found that 96% of sponsored job advert clicks do not lead to a completed job application. Appcast Labs will focus on minimizing this wasted money and to make the recruitment process more cost-effective.
One of its first projects was to partner with Advantage Solutions to optimize job titles and improve organic traffic from key candidate sources. The Appcast Labs team quickly developed a solution tailored to Advantage Solutions unique requirements, to improve critical TA workflows in a scalable and data-driven way.
“Early indicators show that Appcast Labs’ organic solution has outperformed all expectations with some publishers providing click-through rates of up to 19%,” said Blake Drewette, talent attraction manager for Appcast client, Advantage Solutions. “It is very comforting to know that this feed not only acts as a complement to sponsored job efforts but has proven to yield results.”
