Auto Trader and digital automotive platform provider Ebbon Group have launched a vehicle delivery service that brings together the former’s Vehicle Moves with the later’s MoDel.

Ebbon Group’s 3,500 moDel retail customers can now organize their logistics requirements through Auto Trader Vehicle Moves with one click, instead of needing to make a number of calls to arrange vehicle deliveries.

Auto Trader Vehicle Moves is an efficient and cost-effective way for retailers to meet consumer demand to organize and provide a home delivery service to consumers that integrates into Ebbon Group’s model platform, according to a press release, giving retailers easy access to the best market price on every vehicle delivery.

It enables competitive bidding from more than 300 verified transport suppliers who employ 3,000 drivers to achieve the best price, taking into account customer service requirements. Auto Trader says that 79% of vehicles listed are delivered within three days, saving an average of £26 ($32 U.S.) per move. Last year, Auto Trader Vehicle Moves saved retailers over £3.0 million in logistics costs, according to the company.

The new technology solution should help reduce overheads and make it easier to manage vehicle ordering and deliveries, the companies assert.

The platform also provides fleet and logistics management teams with insight into mileage and cost trends and a fully auditable log of all logistics costs.

“At the click of a button, retailers can be confident that each vehicle will be delivered to their customer on time in a way that meets their service level at the best available market price,” said Auto Trader director Ed Hummel.

“Our goal is to continuously offer innovative technology and data solutions to the industry in order to help our customers better achieve their goals, and this launch is another example of how our platform services can remove pain points and empower our customers through technology.”
