AI-powered video interview service VireUp has received an undisclosed investment from Estonia-based Startup Wise Guys and angel investors at a £3.3 million ($4.1 million U.S.) valuation, website Rabrazzi reports.

The company said that this funding would be used to improve its algorithms, introduce new products and scale up services in targeted markets.

According to London-based VireUp, which was co-founded by Efe Pazarçeviren and Arda Çelebi in 2019, it helps recruiters to make fast, data-driven and unbiased recruitment decision by using advanced natural language processing technology to assess candidate’s responses to questions.

While the rectech company is based in the U.K., both of its co-founders are from Turkey.

“We have a big network and customers there,” VireUp CEO and co-founder Pazarçeviren told the AIM Group.

However, he added that “That is not our only focus geography.”
