Turkey-based refurbished electronics marketplace EasyCep has teamed up with insurers Colendi Sigorta and Axa Sigorta to offer insurance for secondhand mobile phones, according to local media reports.
Consumers who purchase a reconditioned mobile phone from EasyCep will now be able to insure it against theft and accidental damage, including screen breakage, liquid contact and voltage change. The consumer can pay the premium either at the time of purchase or in 12 monthly installments.
Founded in 2018, EasyCep is a c-to-b-to-c marketplace. According to the company, its revenue grew 15-fold year-on-year in 2022. In March 2022, EasyCep raised $11 million U.S. in a series A funding round that valued it at $100 million.
Its main rival is GetMobil, which raised $1.5 million in seed investment last year.
