Spain-based general marketplace Milanuncios has partnered with MangoPay for payments on its portal.
According to a press release, “… the payment technology will help transform the way secondhand marketplace transactions are processed, providing an optimal user experience. Thanks to this alliance, Milanuncios will reinforce the security measures of its platform , which will guarantee that each transaction that takes place is not only safe but also fast and fluid.”
“Through a secure and smooth checkout experience, we are likely to attract more users who want to shop on our revamped app, thereby increasing our market share in the highly competitive second-hand market sector in Spain,” said Magalí Rey Dintrans, marketing director at Milanuncios (LinkedIn profile).
On its website, Paris-headquartered MangoPay describes itself as “a leading payment solution specializing in providing payment infrastructure for marketplaces for the past ten years.”
“We started MangoPay, in 2013, with the mission of building a robust and highly secure payment solution tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs seeking to create successful marketplaces, providing our clients with a cutting-edge payment engine that enables them to accelerate their growth and remain laser-focused on generating revenue.”
Headquartered in Barcelona, Milanuncios is a subsidiary of horizontal Adevinta Spain, which is itself owned by Oslo-based Adevinta. Adevinta Spain’s other marketplaces are Fotocasa and Habitaclia (property), InfoJobs (employment), Motos.net and Coches.net (automotive).
According to the press release, Milanuncios has almost 15 million users, with 86,000 new ads published every day.
Meanwhile, Milanuncios has launched a proximity feature that enables users of its app to search for items located close to them, according to a company LinkedIn post.
