SkillGigs, Inc., an ecommerce talent marketplace that pairs skilled healthcare and technology job seekers with AI-matched work opportunities has announced it has launched a new employer of record program.

Established in 2017, the Houston-based company said the new product will make it easier for U.S. employers to hire remote international workers at a time when there is high demand for IT professionals and the cost of U.S.-based talent is rising.

The new launch will enable SkillGigs to be the employer of record for a global pool of tech workers, allowing employers to save money, scale quickly and access specific skillsets for their projects.

According to the company, its employer of record program reduces many of the risks linked with offshore hiring for U.S. companies looking to scale.

When using traditional staffing routes, third-party staffing companies often upcharge employers at least 20%-25% to hire offshore IT roles, which, SkillGigs says is a similar uplift to making a domestic hire and companies can easily lose track of offshore candidates in an ATS or standard job board.

Employers who hire international technology workers through SkillGigs can save up to 40% is talent acquisition costs, the company said, while having access to talent management services that track and document project milestones.

The program for technology workers is offered by SkillGigs in addition to their international travel nurse program for healthcare companies.

“SkillGigs is a true marketplace that is built for users to explore, bid and exchange, and we are making it easier than ever to hire without borders,” said Brad Hill, digital division president at SkillGigs.

In March, SkillGigs unveiled a new platform for its users to create job listings, screen candidates and negotiate remuneration more effectively.
