Starfish Partners, which describes itself as “an international investment and ownership platform for niched professional and mid- to upper-management search specialists,” has acquired Tysons Corner, Virginia-based talent platform NinjaJobs and Global People, which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, according to a statement from the company.
Global People is a local employment solutions provider, while NinjaJobs places cybersecurity talent across North America. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Launched in 2022 and headquartered in Piano, Texas, Starfish Partners targets professional and management search companies, providing both exit strategies for owners and capital for recruitment companies that want to scale. It says it allows independent search firm owners to participate and share in the equity of a group of companies, not just their own.
NinjaJobs will be tasked with expanding Starfish Partners’ operations into cybersecurity by leveraging their technology, expertise and job board platform. The company sends out weekly digests of mainly entry-level job posts.
“Pairing with them [Starfish Partners] will allow us to accelerate growth, expand our reach and better serve the cybersecurity community,” said NinjaJobs CEO Drew Fearson (LinkedIn profile)
Starfish Partners said that expanding into cybersecurity had been a key objective and that the acquisition was motivated by wanting to draw on NinjaJobs ability to segment the market and offer a unique technology platform and job board specific to the sector.
Global People was established in 2008. It implements onsite employment solutions for technology, IT and cybersecurity companies. Its founder and CEO, Jon Bartos, is also CIO at Starfish Partners. He will lead a new franchise network, Dimensional Search, for those wanting to start their own recruitment company.
