Revenue at U.K.-based online retail marketplace Fruugo grew by 110% to £65.5 million ($82.7 million) in 2022, according to the company’s annual report. EBITDA rose more than 6x from £1.3 million in 2021 to £8.1 million in 2022.
Headquartered in Ulverston, Cumbria, it operates a no sale, no fee model, handles all translation requirements and localizes payments for all clients. Retailers are paid the price they set in sterling.
Fruugo operates globally, has 170 employees and works with more than 3,000 online retailers who sell products to around seven million buyers in 42 countries annually.
According to the company, sellers benefit from a fast-growing base of cross-border consumers and gain insights into product demand in foreign markets before investing in localized websites or launching on local marketplaces.
