Japan-based car manufacturer Nissan has launched a new subscription service for its electric and hybrid vehicles.

The product, Nissan Subscription, bundles together all motoring costs except battery charging and fuel. It has been created in partnership with Bipi Mobility U.K. and covers the cost of the vehicle, road tax, servicing, insurance for up to five people and roadside assistance.

The price of plans starts from £645 a month ($828 U.S.) includes 800 miles of usage per month as standard, though mileage allowances can be tailored to a customer’s requirements.

Customers have the option to sign a contract for between three months and two years. They can switch between models during the ownership period. The whole process can be only completed online and once complete, the car is secured with a fully refundable deposit of the equivalent of one month’s payment. The vehicle is then delivered to the customer’s home address at an agreed time and date.

“Nissan Subscription will appeal to a completely different type of customer for us and bring a whole new audience to our brand,” said Andrew Humberstone, Nissan GB MD.

“There’s a new generation of motorists coming through that is looking for an entirely digital purchase experience, likes the idea of swapping their car from time to time to suit different needs, and wants to avoid the hassle of motoring admin.

The subscription service is available for the hybrid Qashqai e-POWER N-Connecta, Leaf 39kWh Tekna and Ariya 87kWh Evolve.

In January, Nissan unveiled Nissan Flex, a new flexible subscription service, in Germany. It also collaborated with local trade players. The offer was developed by Nissan in collaboration with Auto-Rent Systems.
