Malaysia-based automotive marketplace Carsome has appointed former PwC (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) Singapore executive chairman Yeoh Oon Jin (above) to its board.

Yeoh (LinkedIn profile), who is Carsome’s first independent director, was the executive chairman of PwC Singapore before his retirement in June 2021, and was part of the firm’s leadership team for more than 15 years. In total, he spent 38 years at PwC. He has a degree in accounting from Birmingham City University.

In addition to being a board member at Singapore Exchange Limited, he serves as the chairman of the Singapore Land Authority, and vice-chairman of the Singapore Business Federation. He is also a member of the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

In a press release, Carsome CEO Eric Cheng said: “Carsome is extremely fortunate to welcome Yeoh into our fold. His exceptional acumen in finance, digital transformation and business strategy, combined with his position as a corporate governance stalwart, bodes well for our next chapter to establish world-class governance, operational and ecosystem excellence.”

Founded in 2015, Carsome is an integrated automotive e-commerce platform that operates in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.
