Prior to that he was at Tesco for more than 11 years, holding a number of senior roles, culminating in becoming head of partner engagement for Tesco’s online business.

Grummell will be responsible for ensuring it continues to provide its dealer partners with effective stock acquisition and to help them be profitable. He will report to Motorway COO James Wilson and be responsible for the dealer side of the business and managing teams at Motorway’s London and Brighton offices.

“He brings a wealth of highly relevant experience from two very strong retail and e-commerce brands, both in the UK and internationally,” said Wilson. “We still have lots of opportunities to innovate for our dealer partners, unlocking more high-quality stock and delivering profitable growth for our dealers.”

Grummell is the latest senior appointment by Motorway, following Liz Kistruck who joined as CFO at the end of July.

Motorway links dealers with people wanting to trade-in or sell their cars to help dealers acquire stock. In its most recent financial results for 2022, its sales more than doubled from $1 billion to $2.1 billion.
