Turkey-based refurbished-electronics marketplace EasyCep has raised an undisclosed investment from its strategic partner, Fibabanka, to fuel its expansion in local and regional markets.
Fibabanka participated in the EasyCep’s previous funding rounds, including $11 million U.S. series A at a $100 million last year.
EasyCep, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Istanbul, expanded to Qatar as its first foreign market after recoding 15-fold growth last year.
The marketplace says it’s opened 60 physical stores for collection and dispatching of used devices.
“We have achieved a significant growth in sales of refurbished electronic products, especially refurbished phones. The refurbished phone market has an immense potential in Turkey as well as across the region,” its co-founder and CEO Mehmet Akif Özdemir said in a statement to local media.
“With the further strengthening of our strategic partnership with Fibabanka, we will accelerate our expansion into international markets while expanding our operations in Turkey.”
Last month, EasyCep’s competitor Mobilfon announced an investment from Turkcell.
