AI talent acquisition and recruitment platform Eightfold AI has appointed Chano Fernandez as its new co-CEO, according to a news release.

Chano Fernandez
Fernandez, (LinkedIn profile), will share the role with Ashutosh Garg, (LinkedIn profile), Eightfold AI’s existing CEO and co-founder. Fernandez will start his new role in January 2024.
Fernandez was formerly co-CEO of human capital management platform Workday, where he worked for nine years, latterly based in London, focusing on the transition of services to the cloud.
During the nine years Workday grew revenue from $450 million to $6 billion. In his last three months at the beginning of 2023, he worked as an advisor to the new SEO. Prior to that Fernandez was SVP at SAP, responsible for software sales in the EMEA region.
“We are now at an inflection point with AI for the HR industry. There is no better person in the world than Chano, who led HR’s transition into the cloud, to drive HR’s next transformation with AI,” said Garg. “The rise of AI as a scalable and efficient offering has raised the ceiling for how organizations acquire and develop their teams.”
Eightfold AI also recently appointed Darren Burton, former chief HR officer at KPMG as chief people officer and Ankur Bhatt, a former CTO at SuccessFactors as VP for engineering.
During the last 12 months Eightfold has added new clients including Chevron, Vodafone and public sector organizations, including the government of Puerto Rico. The company operates in more than 155 countries.
In April, Eightfold AI integrated new advances in generative AI large language models to create two role-specific Talent Intelligence Copilots.
