U.S.-based performance management provider Betterworks has released three new generative AI capabilities as part of its Intelligent Performance Management tool, according to a company news release.

The products aim to help its clients create clear goals, provide impactful employee feedback and have meaningful and productive conversations with employees about performance to build more productive employees and teams.

The performance management generative AI additions include a ‘Goal Assist’ function that uses employee’s performance data to help employee’s write clear goals aligned with company values, a ‘Feedback Assist’ function that gives leaders personalized, constructive and unbiased feedback for employees to support focused career planning and a ‘Conversation Assist’ tool that improves manager communications. The ’Goal Assist’ function will be available for customers from this month.

The products utilise AI to turn employee performance data into actionable and accurate insights. The product follows a responsible approach in how AI is used that is “grounded in transparency, human-centricity, privacy, and stringent governance,” the company said. Users can activate AI capabilities at their own discretion. The AI features will be kept in Beta as long as necessary to refine reliability and performance, the company said.

“We consulted with our customers and looked at the areas of performance management that created the biggest challenges for people leaders and asked, ‘How can we make this less painful and help managers be more effective at the same time?’” said Betterworks’ CPO, Arnaud Grunwald.

“Time savings are important, and our new capabilities offer that — but even more critical is a manager’s ability to give constructive feedback that reduces the risk of bias and helps the employee achieve their goals.”

In March, Betterworks launched a one-on-one meeting module, Betterworks 1:1, to promote more effective and efficient one-on-one meetings, allowing both participants to view each other’s goals and action items.

Betterworks was founded in 2013 and has offices in Menlo Park and New York. Its customers include Colgate-Palmolive, Intuit, Udemy, Freddie Mac and Kroger.
