Revenue at India-based HRtech startup Keka HR more than doubled during the 12 months to March 2023 (FY22-23), rising by 116% year on year (y-o-y) to INR540 million ($6.4 million U.S.), YourStory reports.

However, expenses grew by 177% y-o-y to INR825 million, mainly due to increased expenditure on employees. As a result, in FY22-23, Keka HR posted an after-tax loss of INR288 million, up a whopping 526% y-o-y.

In FY21-22, the company had narrowed its loss to INR46 million.

In November last year, Keka HR raised $57 million U.S. in a Series A investment round led by WestBridge Capital.

Founded by Vijay Yalamanchili in 2015 and headquartered in Hyderabad, Keka HR develops HR management software to manage payroll, leave, attendance and onboarding. According to the company, it has worked with 6,500 corporate clients to date.
