Dealership technology vendor CarNow has hired CDK Global veteran John Lilly as its chief product officer.

In the new role, Lilly will oversee product development in close cooperation with CarNow’s executive team to ensure alignment with the company’s business strategies. 

“John’s extensive product expertise within the automotive and tech industries will undoubtedly strengthen our product offerings,” CarNow CEO Kayne Grau wrote in the hiring announcement. “With John’s history of delivering innovative solutions that directly translate into tangible customer value, we have full confidence he will play a pivotal role as we expand our platform offerings and enhance the overall experience on both sides of the vehicle transaction.”  

Lilly worked the last six years as president of Integrated Auction Solutions (IAS), a digital wholesale software supplier. Before that, from 2013 to 2017, he worked at CDK Global, ultimately as chief product officer. In that role, he managed product and engineering teams worldwide within the data services and analytics center of excellence. 

Lilly has held other product and management jobs at Automatic Data Processing (ADP), Digital Motorworks (DMI), and Accenture. 

He holds an MBA from Texas McCombs School of Business and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.  

With 5,000 dealership clients, CarNow sells retail-technolgy products that enhance online customer engagement and communication.
