Malaysia-based automotive marketplace Carsome has appointed Miguel Fernandez (pictured) as CFO. He succeeds Juliet Zhu, who will remain in her role as group president.

Fernandez (LinkedIn profile) was CFO at Philippines-based money app Maya for four years until July 2023. Earlier in his career, he spent five years at Amazon, latterly as head of operations finance for emerging markets.

He has a bachelor of science degree in international business and economics from Regis University and an MBA in finance and information systems from St. Edward’s University. Fernandez has also worked for Dell and started his career as a supply chain NCO in the U.S. Army in Colorado and South Korea in the early 1990s.

“He [Fernandez] has a remarkable track record and global experience, especially within the e-commerce industry and we have much to gain from his financial, strategic and operational excellence strengths,” commented Carsome CEO Eric Cheng.
