The leading automotive marketplace in Germany, Adevinta-owned, will expand its operations into the e-bike and pedelec market in 2024.

CEO Ajay Bhatia announced during the Mo:Re conference in Hannover that dealers would be able to place listings on the platform within the first half of next year, whether for new or used vehicles.

“With the option to offer e-bikes on our platform, we give car dealers a sales opportunity for an obvious expansion of their inventory. In addition, as the market leader and largest vehicle market, we support the decarbonization of mobility in Germany,” he said.

A recent survey conducted by the company found that 24.4% of German households have an e-bike and that more than 2 million units were sold in the country last year, making the market an extremely attractive one to enter.

“Our goal is to make one of the largest commercial marketplaces for e-bikes in Germany in the coming years,” Bhatia added. was a strong driver of Adevinta’s Q3 2023 results. During this period, the average number of dealer live listings rose by 19% to around 1.3 million, while average revenue per listing increased by 10% to €24 ($26 U.S.). These factors, coupled with a successful launch of new packages and features, led to a rise in the company’s EBITDA margin to 62.2%.
