Petra Ehmann (above), the current chief innovation officer of Switzerland-based media company Ringier AG, has been additionally tasked with leading global artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives at Ringier Group.
Ehmann has served as the company’s chief innovation officer since 2022. From Jan. 1, she will act as chief innovation and AI officer, reporting to Ringier Group CEO Marc Walder, and driving the “innovation and digital transformation across the company in all 19 Ringier countries,” the company said in a press release.
Prior to working for Ringier AG, Ehmann, an ETH Zurich and Stanford trained engineer, held several positions at Google, the latest being global head of product partnerships for Google Maps augmented reality products. She worked for the technology giant for more than eight years. Alongside her work at Ringier, Ehman is a member of the board of directors at Zug-based Bossard Group, a screw trading and logistics company.
AI has become a relevant topic for Ringier, with Walder announcing that it will “leverage the power of AI to optimize content delivery, personalize the user experience and create innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of its audiences and partners.”
