Russia-based marketplace horizontal Avito has issued tenders for outdoor, radio and online advertising campaigns that will significantly increase its advertising spend, AdIndex reports.

“We are holding separate tenders for different services, including performance arts, outdoor advertising and radio. Various market players are taking part, not just advertising groups,” Violetta Zubkova, director of media purchasing at Avito, told AdIndex.

In 2022, Avito’s total spending on advertising in key media doubled to RUB3.0 billion ($33.8 million U.S.), according to estimates by Mediascope, Admetrix and Digital Budget. Most of this money — RUB2.4 billion — was spent on TV advertising. Right now, Avito is running a TV promotion for its first-ever sales event.

AdIndex reports that Avito’s media budget for this year is RUB7.0 billion. The company refused to confirm or deny this information: “We invest in media as much as necessary to grow the business — no more, no less.  We do not disclose other details of the tender,” Zubkova said.

According to AdIndex, Avito’s media budget is managed by People&Screens, which is part of Okkam.
