Germany-based luxury watch marketplace Chrono24 has named Carsten Keller, an executive from online fashion retailer Zalando, as its new CEO, effective Jan. 1.

Keller will be replacing co-CEOs Tim Stracke and Holger Felgner, who will remain as shareholders and members of the board, which Stracke will lead as chairman.

“While the decision hasn’t been easy, Holger and I always knew that we would eventually need to find a successor to lead Chrono24 into the next phase of growth,” Stracke said.

According to a press release, Keller had a key role in building Zalando’s marketplace model and founded its Connected Retail business. Before that, he worked at McKinsey & Company for more than a decade, helping clients in the fashion and luxury sector.

Stracke hailed “Carsten’s expertise in the luxury industry and with fast-paced online marketplaces, as well as his experience in the leadership team of a publicly traded company.”

Founded in 2003, Chrono24 is a leading marketplace for luxury watches, with offices in Karlsruhe, Berlin, New York, Miami, Tokyo and Hong Kong. According to the company, it hosts more than 3,000 retail dealers and 35,000 private sellers from more than 100 countries.
