U.K.-based vehicle rental company Nexus has launched Nexus-E, a new EV marketplace.

Nexus operates a vehicle supply service from more than 2,000 locations. Vehicles can be booked through its website in seconds and delivered in a few hours. It provides customers with access to a range of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid EVs, via Nexus’ fleet management software, IRIS.

The product is now available through desktop, tablet and mobile devices, enabling users to manage all EV bookings in one place. Customers get access to dedicated operating support throughout the rental process. They can view technical information when selecting their vehicles, including EV range, connection times, battery capacity and charge times.

The company said the new launch bolsters its proposition which gives companies access to the largest supply chain network in the U.K. IRIS connects customers to more than 550,000 vehicles, including 100,000 specialist and commercial vehicles and 500,000 HGVs, across 2,000 locations, according to the company.

“We are really excited about the launch of Nexus-E, which will help to make the switch to electric easier by helping to combat the existing challenges associated with accessing a comprehensive stock of electric vehicles,” said Mike Palmer, client development director at Nexus Vehicle Rental.
