UAE-based classified specialist Dubizzle has released its annual report on used cars for 2023.

Key takeaways from the report include the importance of the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) within cars. Both of these have increasingly begun to appear in luxury cars with features such as autonomous driving, voice commands and smart safety features amongst the most prominent.

The report highlighted a surge in the used-car market, with Dubizzle having over 1.8 monthly active users and the number of listings posted in 2023 surpassing 300,000. Over 265,000 car sellers have used the platform, generating over 10 million leads over the last year.

Dubizzle has also reported a 33% increase in demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and a 122% jump in EV listings — a good sign for the UAE government’s ambitions of green mobility with initiatives such as the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030.

“The market has witnessed an unprecedented surge in demand, driven by factors such as shifting consumer preferences, strategic government policies and continuous improvements in trafficking systems and infrastructure,” said CEO Haider Ali.

Dubizzle has introduced a number of value added services, such as ‘Yard Weekend Sale,’ which displays a wide range of vehicles, a factor Ali believes to be crucial in Dubizzle’s performance.

“The success of initiatives such as the Dubizzle Yard Weekend Sale validates our dedication to creating engaging events,” he added. “Our enlightening Dubizzle Cars podcast series delves into the latest market insights, offering a valuable resource for listeners. We remain committed to boosting user trust through initiatives that redefine the car-buying experience.”

The report also includes key insights into luxury and non-luxury cars, demand for specific brands, the popularity of body types, average prices for the most popular cars and average customer budgets.
