According to Spain-based general marketplace Milanuncios, more than 14.4 million listings — an average of 61,100 per day — were published on its app and website last year. 

Milanuncios is a subsidiary of Adevinta Spain, which also operates real estate marketplaces Fotocasa and Habitaclia, auto sites Coches.net and Motos.net and job board InfoJobs. 

Milanuncios added that the most popular category on the site in 2023 was home and garden, with almost 1.2 million ads, followed by automotive (1.1 million) and fashion and accessories (658,000). 

The regions of the country from which the most ads were posted were Andalucia, Madrid and Valencia. New listings peaked in January, with September-October the second-most-popular period. 

The general marketplace also noted that demand for used vehicles on the site rose by more than a fifth (20.4%) year on year in 2023, with demand for camper vans particularly strong. 

Among consumer goods, bicycles were the top search, followed by sofas and “PlayStation”, with iPhones, electric scooters and wardrobes also very popular. 

“The last few years have been marked by rising prices due to inflation. In this time of economic uncertainty, at Milanuncios we have continued to grow and contribute to the circular economy. Specifically, we continue to see how bicycles, which came to stay during the pandemic, have established themselves as the most in-demand secondhand product,” commented Milanuncios spokesperson Íñigo Vallejo.
