Burak Ertas (above), the CEO of leading Turkey-based marketplace horizontal Sahibinden.com has joined the executive board of the Digital Technologies Business Council (DigiTech) of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK).

DEIK has been promoting Turkish companies abroad since 1985, with DigiTech aiming to facilitate the export of high-tech products and the digital transformation of industrial companies, as well as liaising with government bodies.

Ertas, who has been at the helm of Sahibinden for 14 years, becomes one of DigiTech’s 31 executive board members. He is also the chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

Prior to joining Sahibinden, Ertas worked for mobile phone operator Turkcell, first as EVP business development and service management and then as division head of value-added services.

He also co-founded Odak Software in 1988 before moving to Datasel as technical support manager in 1992. He joined Telenity as assistant general manager in 1994 and was later was promoted to EVP of product development.

Ertas has a degree of B.Sc. in electrical and electronics engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi and an executive MBA from Koç University.
