Kerstin von der Brelie (above) has joined Hamburg-based New Work SE — the parent company of DACH-focused job network Xing and employer rating portal Kununu, among other businesses — as vice president of human resources. She succeeds Britt Schubert, who held the role for three years.

According to the company, Von der Brelie is an expert in organizational development and the promotion of corporate culture.

“With her comprehensive expertise in managing human resources departments and organizational development, Kerstin has more than 20 years of operational experience on an international level,” said New Work CEO Petra von Strombeck.

Von der Brelie has held senior positions at WarnerMedia, Yahoo and AOL, and her most recent role was chief people officer at OneFootball. The fact that one of her tasks will involve “strategic realignment” speaks volumes, as the company laid off 68 employees last April and announced in January this year that an additional 400 would be let go.

According to New Work’s preliminary financial results, revenue fell by 2.5% year on year to €306 million ($332 million U.S.) in 2023, while EBITDA fell by 10.7% to €93 million ($101 million).
