Malaysia-based automotive marketplace Carsome has appointed automotive industry veteran Eric Chan president and COO.

Chan assumes the role after 30 years in the automotive industry in Singapore as regional managing director of Jardine Cycle & Carriage, taking care of Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia. He was previously chairman of a company that manages Mercedes-Benz stores across the country.

Departing COO Aaron Kee, who had held the role since June 2023, will be the new chief business officer with immediate effect. Former president Juliet Zhu is taking up an advisor role to the company’s management team, sharing her insight and experience.

Carsome, which calls itself Southeast Asia’s largest online used-car trading platform, operates in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore
