LinkedIn’s country manager for India, Ashutosh Gupta, is departing the company in April.

According to a media report, Gupta has notified LinkedIn of his desire to take a career break and subsequently pursue new roles.

Gupta joined LinkedIn in 2013 as director and head of marketing solutions before moving to the role of head of online sales for Asia-Pacific (APAC) and China. In 2019, he was appointed country manager for the Indian market.

“We thank Ashutosh Gupta for his decade of dedicated service and wish him all the best for the future,” LinkedIn India said. “As we continue to grow and scale our business in this strategic market, our APAC and India leadership teams will lean in as we finalize the appointment of a new country manager for India.”

Gupta is specifically credited for his contributions to LinkedIn India’s growth in user base to 100 million a year ago, from 57 million when he took over as country manager. The company’s current user base in India stands at 115 million.

Under Gupta’s tenure, LinkedIn also added Hindi language support, in December 2021, to serve the local population.
