General marketplace OLX India, a subsidiary of CarTrade Tech, has appointed Gunjan Kumar (below) as chief product officer (CPO).

Gunjan KumarThe company said it was entrusting Kumar with product innovation in its next growth phase.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management in Bengaluru, Kumar started his career as a lead engineer at Samsung before joining Amazon. He subsequently moved to SnapDeal, another e-commerce marketplace, where he worked in product innovation for the first time. Prior to joining OLX India, Kumar was director of product management at Times Internet, the digital arm of The Times Group, the largest media company in India.

OLX.in carries 30 million annual listings across 12 categories. In August last year, OLX India was acquired by used car marketplace CarTrade Tech. OLX Autos,its car-buying unit, was subsequently closed.

Revenue at CarTrade Tech grew by 31% year on year to INR1.5 billion ($18 million U.S.) in the three months to December 2023.
