Singapore-based auto marketplace Carro has promoted Katherine Teo to the position of CMO.

Teo joined Carro in late 2021 as regional head of marketing. Prior to that, she was head of digital at advertising agency M&C Saatchi in Singapore and social media lead at Leo Burnett.

In 2018, Teo co-founded Create Collective, which “focuses on building communities for the digital age by humanising technology.” It has launched Dayre, which she describes as “an online journal that is members-only and ad-free … a safe space designed for women to have Real Girl Talk.”

“I will continue to drive strategic marketing and branding efforts for the Carro Group, with a focus on strengthening synergy across our ancillary businesses, such as for insurance, our after-sales arm Carro Care and Genie Financial Services,” she said.

“We are prioritising new, emerging markets, such as Japan and Hong Kong and our ancillary businesses in finance, insurance and after-sales”.

Carro recently acquired Hong Kong-based BeyondCars. As a result, it is now active in seven markets, adding Hong Kong to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan.
