Matthias Bischof (above) has been appointed director business clients at SMG Automotive, effective May 1.

SMG Automotive is part of the SMG Swiss Marketplace Group, a JV founded in 2021 by TX Group, Ringier, Mobiliar and General Atlantic. Its automotive portfolio includes AutoScout24 and MotoScout24.

According to SMG’s press release, Bischof will oversee the strategic direction of its b-to-b division, encompassing all aspects of sales and customer service, along with the improvement of business processes.

Before joining SMG Automotive, Bischof was head of corporate fleet sales at Amag Import AG. Prior to that, he was commercial director at vehicle evaluator EuroTax Switzerland, where he optimized product and service offerings.

He has also served as sales and marketing director at BMW Group subsidiary AlphaBet FuhrParkManagement, where he oversaw the deployment of a comprehensive suite of mobility solutions for the b-to-b market.

He replaces Maurice Acker at SMG Automotive. The latter recently co-founded freelancer marketplace Pink Zebra. Operating in Switzerland and South Africa, the company says that “We source and hire for our customers remote software developers, data analysts and digital specialists.”
