Barcelona-based motorcycle reconditioner MundiMoto has appointed Julio Ribes (above) as an advisor, RRHH Press reports.

Ribes is best known for founding Swipcar, a car subscription company that was sold to U.K.-based digital auto retailer Cazoo for €30.0 million ($32.3 million U.S.) in November 2021.

Struggling to survive as the pandemic-driven boom in automotive ecommerce dissipated, Cazoo offloaded it to Spain-based Renting Finders just 13 months later for an undisclosed (but likely firesale, perhaps even nominal) price.

Ribes is currently CEO of Holaglow, a Barcelona-based provider of non-surgical beauty treatments. He is also on the board of venture capital company Demium and an advisor to Nomade Nation.

He has an executive MBA from IESE Business School.

Revenue at Barcelona-based motorcycle reconditioner MundiMoto rose by 17% year on year to €70 million in 2023, and it expects to turn EBITDA positive this year.
