UAE-based car-leasing and rental tech company SelfDrive has reported a 30% jump in demand for its services since the onset of the country’s heavy rainfall and floods in the past month.

The company cites its all-inclusive package as a driving factor behind the surge, including 24/7 breakdown coverage and damage insurance.

“Our commitment to hassle-free damage control ensures customers know any potential damage to the vehicle will be swiftly addressed so that they can enjoy a worry-free driving experience,” said CEO Soham Shah.

The auto tech company provides a wide range of options, including daily rentals and monthly leases, with cars delivered directly to and picked up from the customer’s doorstep. The absence of added subscription charges, hidden fees and cancellation charges, combined with the ability to customize flexible plans and add additional drivers to the vehicle, has also contributed to the upturn in business.

The app-based service operates in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman, and has also extended operations to the U.K. and Ireland. With daily, monthly, and yearly options, SelfDrive offers its customers models from a fleet of over 5,000 cars.
