Adevinta-owned, the No. 1 digital marketplace in Italy, has named Maurizio Suzzi as its head of real estate.

Suzzi has been with Subito since 2022, first as its head of b-to-b sales strategy and then as real estate leader. He brings 13 years of marketing, ecommerce and digital sales experience to the role.

Subito is Italy’s leading classified marketplace, according to Similarweb, averaging 65.3 million visits in April, ahead of runner-up, which had 48.6 million visitors the same month.

“Subito has a strong, diverse community made up of people who make impulse buys but also those who think long and hard, such as those who purchase cars and real estate,” said Suzzi at the Rome Synergie event at the end of 2023. “Digital helps people search for a house in a more in-depth way.”

He added that advertising to the millions of Subito users on the site, across social media, and with the help of AI would ensure that a complex process was made much simpler for Subito users.

It’s not yet clear what ambitions Suzzi has for the real estate vertical. What is certain is that it has a lot of catching up to do to pose any kind of threat to market leader Immobiliare. A quick check on both sites on 13 May found 360,000 properties for sale on Subito and 782,113 for sale on Immobiliare.
